Blog Your Heart Out: Let's get started with some inspiration...

Settling into the Season of Romance...

Hello there!

Two little things, then I'll be on my way.  The first is that I'm very sorry for the confusion, but there was a little miscommunication you have probably already noticed -- on the website it says we begin on the 14th, and the email you got from me last week said that we start on the 8th.  UGH!  How embarrassing.

So, if you've been worried about not getting the Challenge emails, and getting behind, and all that, rest easy!  We don't begin until Valentine's Day.  So there's plenty of time to email your bestie or your sweetie and get them signed up, too.  You can even use the gorgeous picture above to entice them if you like.

Speaking of that gorgeous picture, and of the amazing Maya Angelou quote (isn't everything she did amazing?): if you are wanting to get started NOW and just can't wait, here's something to whet your writer's appetite:

I'll be sending out some of my favorite quotes about writing every day this week, as we head towards the beginning (the real beginning) of the Challenge.

One way to get yourself in the mood and start the creativity juices flowing is by doing morning pages -- three freehand, stream of consciousness, no holds barred journal entries first thing in the morning -- using the quotes as a starting point and inspiration.

You could also play with this a little if mornings aren't your thing -- try out some different ideas and accoutrements for your writer's sanctuary, or go somewhere particularly tempting or bohemian to write.

Let yourself be free and nurture your own writer's turn-on.  And if at any point you get stuck, either go back to the quote and start again, or try starting from here: "What I really want to say is..." and see what happens.

Au revoir,
Rebecca
